It's me!  I haven't updated in 3 months, my bad.   I guess now is a good time. The fall semester ended on Friday, and now I have 5 glorious weeks off.    So I'm pretty excited about that.  The semester went really well; it helps if you kiss up to professors and make sad faces when they feel sick.   I still have a 4.0, which I am totally stoked about.

All I've been doing is homework and working at the office, so now that I have no school, and a couple of days off, there is a strange, beautiful void in my life.  I am busily trying to fill it with sleeping and doing nothing.

I can't believe Christmas is only a week away... it completely snuck up on me, as usual.  I don't mind though, it just means I have to hit the stores, I guess.  Well Happy Jesus' Birthday to you all!! I hope you have an amazing break!

Tuesday, August 22, 2006

So I figured it was probably about time to update again.  School started up again yesterday, after a tiny, transient break called Summer.  I'm not too excited about this semester but thats ok because who ever is?

And college football starts in a week! I am totally stoked about that, Dad and I bought two Notre Dame t-shirts last night to be prepared for the season. I have transferred my allegiance from professional sports like the NFL and the NBA to their college counterparts- NCAA football and basketball.  Well, with notable exceptions such as the Sacramento Kings and the GB Packers, who I will still follow.   College sports are so much more about the purity of competition, as opposed to the rampant commercialism found in the NFL and NBA, that I can't help but be won over.

I should probably go to class... but my math teacher is a female Ben Collier.  Which is not a bad thing.  It's just interesting.  And cracks me up.  I can even find these gems of randomness in the bleak world of college algebra.  !

Well have an awesome day everybody!! Don't forget Heb 12: 12-14.  If you don't know what it is, you must not have ever experienced finals week to its fullest.

The Trinity Wilderness is stunningly beautiful.  It was delightful to spend a weekend dozing in a hammock, watching the river go by from the swing on the shore, kayak down the said river, and forget time, worries, and everything else.

We spent several late-night hours playing games and watching quality movies such as Mean Girls  [cue incredulous laughter] and counting mosquito bites.

Shane: "I have chocolate on my leg."

Dan: "Ooh, does it hurt?"

Have you ever sat down and just watched paint dry? No, of course you haven't, because that has to be the most boring, slow, and dull process ever.  Unfortunately, this is how my dad drives.

Despite this, we eventually proceeded from point A to point B in an excruciatingly safe manner.

I hope you guys are all enjoying your summers... savor the last bits you guys, it won't last long.

I'm planning on milking the remaining weeks of summer for all they're worth.  A couple of days ago Lauren, Emily and I randomly went to Great America. It was so much fun!  We got lost on the way down cuz of Mapquest, had some real good milkshakes, and then crashed exhaustedly when we finally found our motel, lol.  On Monday we got to chillax, buy expensive food, go on some sweet rides, and get some hot tattoos.  It was fantastic spending time together and being mature and responsible... well, yeah.  Kind of.

Our henna action (Lauren's on the left, I'm on the right)

Waiting in line

So this weekend we're having a semi-family reunion up @ my aunt's cabin, which happens to be situated on a pretty sweet river.  We're going to go kayaking and sleep on the beach, rough it a little and get a little crazy.

Well it's been a long weekend and this one will be a marathon, so I'm getting to bed.
